AN ORDINANCE relating to the Department of Parks and Recreation; authorizing the Superintendent of Parks and Recreation to execute for and on behalf of the City a Concession Agreement granting Miri's Seattle LLC the right to exclusive use and occupancy of the Golden Gardens Bathhouse Concession Premises for the purpose of providing food and concessions for park patrons at Golden Gardens Park.

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation ("DPR") has historically provided food service at Golden Gardens Park through concession agreements to the public from the south area of the Golden Gardens Park Bathhouse ("Bathhouse"); and
WHEREAS, in August 2016, DPR conducted a publicly advertised request for proposal process to find a vendor to operate a food concession at the Bathhouse; and
WHEREAS, following a thorough review process of the submitted proposals, the Superintendent of Parks and Recreation ("Superintendent") determined that Miri's Seattle LLC submitted the strongest proposal; and
WHEREAS, DPR desires to continue to offer food services to park patrons at Golden Gardens Park; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Superintendent of Parks and Recreation ("Superintendent"), or the Superintendent's designee, is hereby authorized on behalf of The City of Seattle to execute a five-year Concession Agreement, substantially in the form of Attachment 1 to this ordinance, with Miri's Seattle LLC. The Concession Agreement further authorizes the Superintendent to extend the term of the Concession Agreement for up to two five-year periods.

Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force 30 days after its approval by the Mayor, but if not approved and returned by the Mayor within ten days after presentation, it shall take effect as provided by Seattle Municipal Code Section 1.04.020.
