AN ORDINANCE relating to City employment, commonly referred to as the Second Quarter 2023 Employment Ordinance; returning positions to the civil service system; exempting positions from the civil service system; and amending Section 4.13.010 of the Seattle Municipal Code; all by a 2/3 vote of the City Council.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Returning three exempt positions to Civil Service status. As recommended by the Seattle Human Resources Director in the Classification Determination Report specified, the following positions are returned to Civil Service:
* 1 vacant position (10007356) in the Department of Education & Early Learning, Strategic Advisor 1, General Government (Report #20195)
* 1 vacant position (10007381) in Seattle Public Utilities, Strategic Advisor 1, Customer Service, Public Information & Promotion (Report #20275)
* 1 vacant position (10007481) in the Office of Planning & Community Development, Strategic Advisor 1, General Government (Report #20404)
Section 2. Exempting eight positions from Civil Service status. As recommended by the Seattle Human Resources Director in the Classification Determination Report specified, the following positions are exempted from Civil Service:
* 1 vacant position (00017712) in Seattle City Light, Information Technology Professional A, Exempt (Report #20190)
* 1 vacant position (00024958) in Finance and Administrative Services, Information Technology Professional A, Exempt (Report #20051)
* 6 filled positions (00020790, 00021342, 00021514, 00023341, 00024519, 10003352) in the Law Department, Legal Assistant (Report #20446)
Section 3. Section 4.13.010 of the Seattle Municipal Code, last amended by Ordinance 126605, is amended as follows:
