A RESOLUTION relating to the Department of Parks and Recreation; authorizing submission of application(s) for grant funding assistance for Aquatic Lands Enhancement Account (ALEA) project(s) to the Recreation and Conservation Funding Board as provided in RCW 79.105.150, chapter 79A.25 RCW, Title 286 WAC, and other applicable authorities.

WHEREAS, on November 28, 2011, the Seattle City Council passed Resolution 31336, adopting the Department of Parks and Recreation 2011 Development Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Arboretum Waterfront Trail Renovation project is included in the Department of Parks and Recreation's 2016-2021 Capital Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS, under provisions of the Aquatic Lands Enhancement Account (ALEA) program, state grant assistance is requested to aid in financing the cost of facility development and renovation; and
WHEREAS, The City of Seattle, by and through the Department of Parks and Recreation ("City"), intends to apply for and accept RCO Grant funding assistance for the Arboretum Waterfront Trail Renovation project ("Project"); and
WHEREAS, the City considers it in the best public interest to complete the projects described in the applications; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE, THE MAYOR CONCURRING, THAT:
Section 1. The Superintendent of Parks and Recreation ("Superintendent"), or his designee, is hereby authorized to submit formal application on behalf of The City of Seattle ("City"), in such counterparts as are necessary, to the Recreation and Conservation Funding Board for grant assistance in the amount set forth in the "Grant Request" column below:
