WHEREAS, a collective bargaining agreement between The City of Seattle (City) and the Seattle Police Officers' Guild expired on December 31, 2014; and
WHEREAS, employees represented by the Seattle Police Officers' Guild continued to work after December 31, 2014 on the condition that the subject of their wages continued to be negotiated via collective bargaining; and
WHEREAS, collective bargaining has led to an agreement concerning wages, benefits, and other conditions of employment between the City and the Seattle Police Officers' Guild; and
WHEREAS, the City has held in reserve funding sufficient to pay the costs of the current and retroactive payroll obligations established by this ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. As requested by the Seattle Human Resources Director and recommended by the Mayor, the Mayor is authorized on behalf of The City of Seattle to execute a collective bargaining agreement with the Seattle Police Officers' Guild, effective January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2020, substantially in the form attached to this ordinance as Attachment 1 and identified as "Agreement By and Between The City of Seattle and Seattle Police Officers' Guild."
