AN ORDINANCE relating to the Building and Construction Codes, Subtitle VI, Fire Code; adding, deleting, and revising various Seattle Fire Department permit, certificate, inspection, and plan review fees and related provisions; and amending Sections 15.35.010, 22.602.010, 22.602.045, 22.602.050, 22.602.070, and 22.602.090 of the Seattle Municipal Code.

WHEREAS, Seattle Fire Department permit, inspection, certification, and plan review fees were last modified on January 1, 2017, as authorized by Ordinance 125189; and
WHEREAS, amendments to the Seattle Fire Code from time to time require the introduction of new Seattle Fire Department permits, the elimination of other permits, and modifications to permit titles and administration, to ensure consistency between the permit structure and Seattle Fire Code regulations; and
WHEREAS, to benefit customers, The City of Seattle wishes to more closely align certain Seattle Fire Department certifications with relevant State of Washington certifications; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to maintain or improve cost recovery for the provision of fire prevention services related to specific permitted activities, inspections, plan reviews, and certifications; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Subsection 22.602.010 of the Seattle Municipal Code, last amended by Ordinance 118391, is amended as follows:
22.602.010 Title and purpose((.))
A. Title. ((The ordinance codified in this chapter)) This Chapter 22.602 shall be known as the "Fire Code Permit and ((Inspection)) Fee Ordinance."
B. Purpose. It is the purpose of this ((chapter)) Subtitle VI to prescribe fees in accordance with the regulatory authority vested in the Seattle Fire Department and for services provided, as follows:
