AN ORDINANCE conditioning the Seattle Department of Transportation's 2019 grant applications.

WHEREAS, the Seattle Department of Transportation applies for a variety of state, federal, and other external funding grants to construct the transportation projects identified in the City's Capital Improvement Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to affirm support for large capital projects in advance of the Seattle Department of Transportation applying for external grants; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not direct or require that the Seattle Department of Transportation apply for specific grants; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance may be amended during 2019 to reflect emerging funding opportunities or capital priorities; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. In 2019, the Seattle Department of Transportation is prohibited from applying for project grants of $5,000,000 or more of external funding, except for the projects authorized in Section 2 of this ordinance. This prohibition applies only to competitive grant programs.
Section 2. In 2019, the Seattle Department of Transportation is authorized to apply for grants for the following projects:
A. 23rd Avenue Corridor Improvements (MC-TR-C037)
B. 3rd Avenue Corridor Improvements (MC-TR-C034)
C. Accessible Mt. Baker Implementation (MC-TR-C002)
D. SDOT ADA Program (MC-TR-C057)
E. Arterial Asphalt & Concrete Program Phase II (MC-TR-C033)
F. Bike Master Plan - Greenways (MC-TR-C063)
G. Bike Master Plan - Protected Bike Lanes (MC-TR-C062)
H. Bridge Rehabilitation and Replacement Phase II (MC-TR-C039)
I. Bridge Seismic - Phase III (MC-TR-C008)
J. Center City Streetcar Connector (MC-TR-C040)
K. Freight Spot Improvement Program (MC-TR-C047)
L. Graham Street Station (MC-TR-C082)
