AN ORDINANCE authorizing the General Manager/CEO of Seattle Public Utilities to execute a contract with Waste Management of Washington for construction waste collection services; and ratifying and confirming certain prior acts.

WHEREAS, the City's construction waste service contract with Waste Management of Washington will end March 31, 2019; and
WHEREAS, Seattle Public Utilities issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) on Monday, September 10, 2018, and received two responsive proposals for future services; and
WHEREAS, Seattle Public Utilities completed a comprehensive review of the proposals against the evaluation criteria established in the RFP and selected Waste Management as the highest scoring proposal; and
WHEREAS, Seattle Public Utilities negotiated a new contract with Waste Management to maintain and enhance the City's construction waste services; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The General Manager/CEO of Seattle Public Utilities is authorized to execute, for and on behalf of The City of Seattle, a contract with Waste Management of Washington for construction waste collection, substantially in the form of Attachment 1 to this ordinance.
Section 2. Any act consistent with the authority of this ordinance taken after its passage and prior to its effective date is ratified and confirmed.

Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force 30 days after its approval by the Mayor, but if not approved and returned by the Mayor within ten days after presentation, it shall take effect as provided by Seattle Municipal Code Section 1.04.020.
