AN ORDINANCE relating to the Department of Parks and Recreation; authorizing the Superintendent of Parks and Recreation to execute, for and on behalf of the City, a concession agreement granting Fifth Avenue Sports, LLC d/b/a Green Lake Boathouse the right to operate a concession providing boat rental service, and retail and food sales at the Department's facility at Green Lake Park.

WHEREAS, boat rentals and food service have been available at Green Lake Park for over 30 years and have proven to be popular with park visitors; and
WHEREAS, the last concession agreement for food service and boat rentals expired in December 2014, and the Department of Parks and Recreation desires to continue these services; and
WHEREAS, a publicly advertised Request for Proposals (RFP) process was completed in 2014; and
WHEREAS, Fifth Avenue Sports, LLC d/b/a Green Lake Boathouse was the successful proposer and best met the requirements set forth in the RFP; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Superintendent of the Department of Parks and Recreation ("Superintendent"), or the Superintendent's designee, is authorized to execute, for and on behalf of the City, a concession agreement with Fifth Avenue Sports, LLC d/b/a Green Lake Boathouse substantially in the form of the Green Lake Boat Rental and Food Service Concession Agreement between The City of Seattle and Fifth Avenue Sports, LLC d/b/a Green Lake Boathouse (the "Agreement"), which is attached to this ordinance as Attachment 1.
Section 2. As provided in the Agreement, the Superintendent is authorized to extend the initial term of the Agreement for up to two additional five-year terms by mutual consent of the Superintendent and the concessionaire, on such terms and conditions as the Superintendent deems to be in the best interest of the City.
