AN ORDINANCE relating to City employment; adjusting the pay zones for certain job titles in the City’s Information Technology Professional discretionary pay program; and ratifying and confirming certain prior acts.

WHEREAS, separate, future legislation will be forwarded by the City Budget Office to provide department budget appropriation authority to cover wage increases authorized in this ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Adjusting the pay zones for certain job titles in the Information Technology Professional (ITP) Compensation Program. The rates for 2015 shall be effective December 31, 2014. The rates for 2016 shall be effective December 30, 2015. The rates for 2017 shall be effective December 28, 2016. The rates for 2018 shall be effective December 27, 2017.

Information Technology Professional B. As recommended by the Seattle Human Resources Director, the hourly rates for the job title of Information Technology Professional B shall be adjusted for 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 as shown below.

2016                                                               $37.34 - $56.01

2017                                                               $38.64 - $57.97

2018                     Wage rates shall be increased by 100 percent of the percentage increase in the Seattle-Tacoma-Bremerton area Consumer Price Index for June 2017 over the same index for June 2016; provided, however, said percentage increase shall not be less than one and one-half percent, nor shall it exceed four percent.

Information Technology Professional C. As recommended by the Seattle Human Resources Director, the hourly rates for the job title of Information Technology Professional C shall be adjusted for 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 as shown below.

2018                     Wage rates shall be increased by 100 percent of the percentage increase in the Seattle-Tacoma-Bremerton area Consumer Price Index for June 2017 over the same index for June 2016; provided, however, said percentage increase shall not be less than one and one-half percent, nor shall it exceed four percent.

 

Section 2. Any act consistent with this ordinance and prior to its effective date is ratified and confirmed.

 

Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force 30 days after its approval by the Mayor, but if not approved and returned by the Mayor within ten days after presentation, it shall take effect as provided by Seattle Municipal Code Section 1.04.020.
