A RESOLUTION endorsing a budget and position modifications for The City of Seattle for 2018.

WHEREAS, Resolution 28885 stated the City Council's intent to adopt a Citywide biennial budgeting process consisting of two one-year budgets, effective January 1, 1995; and
WHEREAS, with the exception of continuing and carry forward appropriations, no funds will be appropriated for Year Two of a biennium in the first year of a biennial budget process; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 28885 states the Council's intent to endorse a budget for Year Two of each biennial budgeting period at the time it adopts the Year One budget; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council wish to endorse the 2018 budget and position modifications for The City of Seattle, which will be subject to further review and modification before being adopted by future ordinance in 2017; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE, THE MAYOR CONCURRING, THAT:
Section 1. The Mayor and City Council endorse the appropriations for The City of Seattle's annual budget for 2018 that are reflected in Attachment A to this resolution (Appropriations by Budget Control Level) as restricted by the budget provisos in Clerk File 314362.
Section 2. The Mayor and City Council endorse the position modifications for 2018 as reflected in Attachment B to this resolution.
Section 3. In 2017, the City Council intends to conduct a mid-biennium budget review and adoption process for the 2018 Budget, whereby the Mayor will submit a 2018 Proposed Budget to reflect technical corrections and adjustments to the 2018 Endorsed Budget.
