AN ORDINANCE relating to the Department of Parks and Recreation; establishing the 2018 fee schedule for the use of park properties and other park and recreation facilities and services; and superseding previous park and recreation fee schedules.

WHEREAS, on November 21, 2016, the Seattle City Council approved Ordinance 125208, which established the 2017-2018 fee schedule for the use of park properties and other park and recreation facilities and services, superseded previous park and recreation fee schedules, and amended Section 18.28.010 of the Seattle Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to adopt a 2018 Department of Parks and Recreation Fee Schedule effective January 1, 2018; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Effective January 1, 2018, the Superintendent of the Department of Parks and Recreation is authorized to charge the fees substantially in the form set forth in the 2018 “Department of Parks and Recreation Fee Schedule,” attached as Attachment 1 to this ordinance. All prior Department of Parks and Recreation fee schedules are superseded.
Section 2. The provisions of this ordinance and of Attachment 1 to this ordinance are declared to be separate and severable. If one or more of the provisions of this ordinance or of Attachment 1 shall be declared by any court of competent jurisdiction to be contrary to law, then such provision or provisions shall be null and void and severed from the rest of the ordinance or from Attachment 1, and all other provisions shall remain.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force 30 days after its approval by the Mayor, but if not approved and returned by the Mayor within ten days after presentation, it shall take effect as provided by Seattle Municipal Code Section 1.04.020.
