WHEREAS, the 2013 Annual Action Plan component of the City's 2009-2012 Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development, as adopted by Ordinance 124055, included $220,015 in HOME Investment Partnerships funds for homebuyer activities; and
WHEREAS, there is an accumulation of under-expended funds from prior years amounting to $495,848 in HOME Investment Partnerships funds; and
WHEREAS, these funds have not been fully expended and the Office of Housing has determined that a more timely and effective use of the unexpended funds is in rental housing preservation and development activities; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The 2013 Annual Action Plan component of the City's 2009-2012 Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development, as adopted by Ordinance 124055, is amended to decrease the HOME Investment Partnerships Program funding for the Homebuyer Program activity by $220,015, to allocate $495,848 of under-expended funds from prior years, and to increase the HOME Investment Partnerships Program funding for the Rental Housing Preservation and Development activity by $715,863.
Section 2. The Director of the Human Services Department is authorized to make any conforming changes that may be necessary to other portions of the affected consolidated plans and annual action plans to reflect the changes adopted in this ordinance and to provide any formal submittals to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development to effectuate the changes adopted in this ordinance.
