AN ORDINANCE authorizing the Director of Seattle Public Utilities to enter into a contract with Rabanco, Ltd. to provide recycling processing services for the City of Seattle; and ratifying and confirming certain prior acts.

WHEREAS, the City contracts with Rabanco, Ltd. for recycling processing under a contract scheduled to expire March 31, 2016; and
WHEREAS, the City will continue to need recycling processing services; and
WHEREAS, Seattle Public Utilities issued a Request for Proposal in 2014 for future processing services; and
WHEREAS, Seattle Public Utilities selected Rabanco, Ltd. as a finalist and negotiated a new contract to provide processing services; NOW, THEREFORE;
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Director of Seattle Public Utilities is authorized to execute, for and on behalf of the City of Seattle, a contract with Rabanco, Ltd. substantially in the form of the contract attached hereto and identified as Attachment 1.
Section 2. Any act taken after the passage but prior to the effective date of this ordinance and consistent with its authority is hereby ratified and confirmed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force 30 days after its approval by the Mayor, but if not approved and returned by the Mayor within ten days after presentation, it shall take effect as provided by Seattle Municipal Code Section 1.04.020.
