WHEREAS, Rule I.D of the General Rules and Procedures of the Seattle City Council provides that a President Pro Tem shall be designated biennially on a monthly rotation basis, based on seniority, to act in the absence of the President, with the next scheduled Pro Tem to act in the President Pro Tem’s absence; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE THAT:
Section 1. Members of the City Council are designated to serve as President Pro Tem, according to Rule I.D of the General Rules and Procedures of the City Council, during 2026 and 2027 on the following schedule:

Section 2. A Councilmember appointed to fill a vacancy after this resolution takes effect shall assume the replaced Councilmember's President Pro Tem assignments.
Section 3. If a President Pro Tem is required in 2028 prior to the designation of President Pro Tem duties for the 2028-2029 biennium, the President Pro Tem shall be the most senior Councilmember available to serve, with alphabetical order of last name used to break ties.
