AN ORDINANCE relating to City employment; adopting a 2024 Citywide Position List.

WHEREAS, the City Council annually adopts a Citywide Position List and a City Budget; and
WHEREAS, in 2023, the City Council passed Ordinance 126883 adopting a 2023 Citywide Position List and Ordinance 126955 adopting the 2024 Budget; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 126955 anticipated additional legislation from the Seattle Department of Human Resources proposing a 2024 Citywide Position List that reflects changes to the 2023 Citywide Position List; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 126955 anticipated that such position list would include: modifications to the 2023 Position List for changes effected by subsection 3(a) of Ordinance 126955; the Seattle Human Resources Director’s reclassification of regular positions made from January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023; and the creation, modification, or abrogation of regular positions by ordinances passed during the same period; and
WHEREAS, the Seattle Department of Human Resources has duly compiled a 2024 Citywide Position List; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Effective January 1, 2024, the officer and employee positions designated in the “2024 Citywide Position List,” attached to this ordinance as Exhibit A, are established as the regular full-time positions and regular part-time positions in the various City departments or offices shown in each position classification (title) listed; however, if Exhibit A shows a later effective date for any such position, the later date shall govern.
Section 2. The positions included in Exhibit A shall remain in effect subject to modification by any appropriate administrative or legislative action occurring on or after January 1, 2024.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect as provided by Seattle Municipal Code Sections 1.04.020 and 1.04.070.
