Recitals:
The Department of Finance and Administrative Services operates a Fleet Management Paint and Body Shop responsible for repairing and renewing City vehicles and equipment.
Industry practices have shifted toward combining automotive body repair and painting duties into a single body of work to support operational flexibility and efficiency.
The Seattle Department of Human Resources reviewed the classifications used in the Body and Paint Shot and determined that revisions to the Automotive Sheet Metal Worker classification are appropriate to reflect the current body of work. Therefore,
Be it ordained by The City of Seattle as follows:
Section 1. As recommended by the Seattle Human Resources Director and as requested by the Department of Finance and Administrative Services, the existing classification title Automotive Sheet Metal Worker is retitled to Automotive Sheet Metal Worker-Painter. The rate of pay will not change.
This ordinance shall take effect as provided by Seattle Municipal Code Sections 1.04.020 and 1.04.070.
