BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 22.420.010 of the Seattle Municipal Code, last amended by Ordinance 124276, is amended as follows:
22.420.010 Adoption of International Fuel Gas Code
The Seattle Fuel Gas Code consists of: (1) the following portions of the ((2012)) 2015 edition of the International Fuel Gas Code published by the International Code Council, as amended by City Council by ordinance: Chapters 2-8, together with the adopted amendments and additions, and (2) Chapter 1 relating to administration, permitting and enforcement adopted by City Council by ordinance. One copy of the ((2012)) 2015 International Fuel Gas Code is filed with the City Clerk in C.F. ((313184)) 319952.
Section 2. Chapter 1 of the Seattle Fuel Gas Code is adopted to read as follows:

SECTION 101
TITLE
101.1 Title. These regulations shall be known as the "Seattle Fuel Gas Code," may be cited as such, and are referred to herein as "this code." All references to the International Fuel Gas Code contained in this code mean the Seattle Fuel Gas Code.

PURPOSE
102.1 Purpose. The purpose of this code is to provide minimum standards to safeguard life or limb, health, property and public welfare by regulating and controlling the design, construction, installation, quality of materials, location, operation, and maintenance or use of fuel gas systems within the City.
