Title
AN ORDINANCE relating to the Technology Matching Fund Program; making allocations and authorizing implementation of certain Technology Matching Fund projects in 2015; providing that 2015 appropriations for the Technology Matching Fund from the Cable Television Franchise Subfund and from the Information Technology Fund shall automatically carry forward into the 2016 fiscal year; allowing that any unspent funds from an individual project may be applied to another Technology Matching Fund project; and ratifying and confirming certain prior acts.
Body
WHEREAS, The City of Seattle (City) has determined that it is important to enable digital equity, foster broadband adoption, and provide digital opportunities for all its residents, including sufficient access to electronic information, technology literacy, and the application of technology for civic engagement; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 29673 established a Technology Matching Fund Program for such purposes and identified project selection criteria and a process for selecting projects; and
WHEREAS, the City has appropriated $470,000 in the 2015 Adopted Budget (Ordinance 124648) from the Information Technology Fund for the Community Technology Program to implement Technology Matching Fund projects funded by the Cable Television Franchise Subfund; and
WHEREAS, the Community Technology Advisory Board has recommended projects for funding, and the Chief Technology Officer concurs with those recommendations; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor or the Mayor's designee is hereby authorized to proceed with implementation of the following 22 projects on behalf of The City of Seattle:
