A RESOLUTION adopting General Rules and Procedures of the Seattle City Council; superseding Resolutions 31489 and 31561.

WHEREAS, by Resolution 31489 and 31561, the Seattle City Council adopted "General Rules and Procedures of the Seattle City Council" to govern both its internal management and the procedures available to the public, in conformance with the City Charter and the customary practice of legislative bodies; and
WHEREAS, in November 2015, the Council conducted a biennial review of its procedures and rules that guide and facilitate Councilmember duties and meeting deliberations; and
WHEREAS, the biennial review included a reorganization of the entire document to provide better access to the information; and
WHEREAS, the reorganization of the document requires adoption of a new set of "General
Rules and Procedures of the City Council;" and
WHEREAS, additional revisions include expansion and clarification of the rules; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE THAT:
Section 1. The City Council adopts the "General Rules and Procedures of the Seattle City Council," as provided as Attachment 1.
Section 2. Resolutions 31489 and 31561 are superseded.
