AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance 126490, which adopted the 2022 Budget; changing appropriations to various departments and budget control levels, and from various funds in the 2022 Budget; and ratifying and confirming certain prior acts; all by a 3/4 vote of the City Council.

WHEREAS, in December 2021, the City adopted Ordinance 126503, which increased wages for certain non-represented City employees, Ordinance 126504, which increased wages for City employees in certain pay bands, Ordinance 126505, which provided City employees with an additional paid holiday for Juneteenth, and Ordinance 126516, which increased wages for certain represented City employees; and
WHEREAS, in March 2022, the City adopted Ordinance 126559, which provided City employees with an additional paid holiday for Indigenous Peoples' Day; and
WHEREAS, in April 2022, the City adopted Ordinance 126565, which increased wages for certain represented City employees; and
WHEREAS, the City was holding the funding needed to pay for these costs in reserves for the General Fund and in some department funds while staff determined the correct dollar amounts to distribute to City departments for these increased costs; and
WHEREAS, the City is now ready to appropriate funds to departments to cover these additional labor costs; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF SEATTLE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. In order to pay for necessary costs and expenses related to Annual Wage Increases for City employees in 2022, but for which insufficient appropriations were made due to causes that could not reasonably have been foreseen at the time of the making of the 2022 Budget, appropriations for the following items in the 2022 Budget are increased from the funds shown, as follows:
